XRW stands for eXtreme-cross Relative Work — a real skydiving discipline, and one of the hardest things you can do in the sky: flying relative to other pilots who are each using a completely different mode of flight. A canopy pilot spiralling down to dock with a wingsuit in full flight. Two aircraft of very different speeds holding one formation. Everyone doing something different — everyone perfectly in sync.
We named our software after it, because that's exactly what a dropzone is: manifest, riggers, instructors, tandems, event organisers and sport jumpers — all flying differently, all needing to move as one.
Where the name comes from
XRW grew out of two decades of pioneering jumps, largely driven by the Performance Designs Factory Team. The short history, as told by Skydive Mag:
- 2002The first documented attempts — wingsuit pilot Jari Kuosma flying with canopy pilot Vladi Pesa, alongside PD Factory Team members.
- 2004–2005JT (Jonathan Tagle) and Taya Weiss pioneer formations on a Velocity with a front-riser trimmer, and the first tiny JVX 39 canopy.
- 2010Project 2010 achieves the first double dock; JT, Taya Weiss and Jeff Nebelkopf make the first 3-way dock.
- 2011–2012The PD Factory Team runs formation-XRW camps, building up to a 10-way vertical flock — five wingsuits, five canopies.
- 2017The first XXRW project at Empuriabrava adds a third mode of flight: a wingsuit, a canopy — and a Pilatus Porter aircraft.

Why it fits
XRW the discipline only works when pilots on different wings fly with total precision and total trust. XRW the platform exists to give a dropzone that same precision: the DZ dashboard, the rigging loft, the event organiser's desk and the jumper's phone all see the same picture at the same moment. No double-entry, no paper wall charts, no radio-relay of who's on the next load.
The manifest knows what the rigger signed off. The jumper's logbook knows what the manifest flew. The DZO sees all of it, live. Different wings, one formation.
Who we are
XRW is a British software company. The platform is built by people who have stood on a hangar floor at 7am with a paper manifest, a queue of tandems and a rigger asking who moved his tools — and decided all three problems were solvable.
We build one platform with a purpose-made home for every role on the DZ — and the jumper app is free, because the sport gets better when every jumper carries their logbook, licence and manifest in their pocket.
What we believe
Mobile-first, hangar-floor ready. The work happens beside the plane, not in the office. Software should follow the work.
One transparent price. No module nickel-and-diming, no multi-year lock-in. If the product is good, you'll stay because it's good.
Safety stays human. Our software supports the people who make safety decisions — it never replaces them.
